As an Emotional Eating Coach and NLP Master Practitioner, I don’t just understand binge eating from textbooks, I lived it.
Long before I helped women calm cravings and stop stress eating, I was the woman standing in her kitchen at night, exhausted, promising myself tomorrow would be different.
My relationship with food wasn’t about willpower. It was about survival. Childhood trauma wired my nervous system for fear, and food became the only thing that felt safe. This is the story of how I rewired those patterns and how you can too.
I Learned to Be Quiet Before I Learned to Be Myself
There was a time when I believed I was the problem.
When you grow up in a home filled with anger and unpredictability, you learn quickly what keeps you safe.
Crying? Not safe.
Speaking up? Not safe.
Being talented or expressive? Not safe.
So I adapted.
Because when you’re young, you don’t question the environment.
You question yourself.
And when someone grows up in repeated trauma, you don’t just survive it, you build your identity around it.
That identity followed me straight into emotional eating.
When Food Becomes the Only Safe Thing
I didn’t learn that emotions were safe.
I learned they were dangerous.
So I found something predictable.
Food.
Food didn’t yell.
Food didn’t shame me.
Food didn’t explode.
It became my comfort, my reward, my control.
This is something I now see clearly as an Emotional Eating Coach: binge eating is rarely about hunger. It’s about safety.
Food was the only thing that quieted my nervous system.
And without realizing it, I created subconscious beliefs that shaped my eating patterns for decades.
The Beliefs That Followed Me Into Adulthood
When you grow up believing you’re “too much” or “not enough,” you don’t leave that behind at 18.
You carry it.
Into relationships.
Into your career.
Into your body.
I lived in fight-or-flight for years.
Constantly bracing.
Constantly trying to be perfect.
Constantly believing I needed to be fixed.
And emotional eating became my coping tool.
Back then, we didn’t understand how chronic stress impacts cortisol, thyroid function, gut health, hormones, or mental clarity.
We didn’t understand how trauma drives sugar cravings, binge eating, and stress eating.
So I just kept asking myself:
Why can’t I control this?
Why does food feel stronger than me?
Becoming a “Health Nut” Out of Survival
My father used to mock me for being a “health nut.”
What he didn’t know was this:
I wasn’t obsessed with health.
I was trying to fix what I believed was a broken body.
I became a physical therapist to understand how to repair what I thought was faulty.
I studied yoga to release stored emotion.
I read everything about nutrition and hormones.
But none of that touched the real issue.
Because emotional eating isn’t solved by discipline.
It’s solved by understanding what your nervous system is trying to protect you from.
The Turning Point: Becoming an NLP Master Practitioner
The breakthrough came when I trained as an NLP Master Practitioner.
That’s when I understood something life-changing:
I wasn’t sabotaging myself.
I was running inherited programming.
Unprocessed trauma.
Old beliefs.
Subconscious patterns that were never mine.
Through Time Line Therapy, Parts Integration, and hypnosis, I released emotional weight that had been driving my binge eating and stress eating for decades.
At 36, it felt like being reborn.
I wasn’t surviving anymore.
I was finally thinking my own thoughts.
Healing the Body After Rewiring the Mind
Even after rewiring subconscious beliefs, my body still needed support.
That’s where integrative health and functional medicine came in.
Chronic stress had impacted my gut, hormones, and energy levels.
Once I addressed both the mind and the physiology, everything shifted.
Clarity.
Digestion.
Hormonal balance.
Confidence.
This is why my work as an Emotional Eating Coach looks at both nervous system regulation and subconscious belief rewiring.
Because emotional eating isn’t just a food issue.
It’s a survival pattern.
Why I Help Women Rewire Emotional Eating
Today, as an Emotional Eating Coach and NLP Master Practitioner, I help women decode cravings instead of fighting them.
We calm the nervous system so food isn’t the emergency brake.
We release shame instead of stacking more on top.
We rewire subconscious beliefs that were formed in childhood but are still running the show.
Because binge eating and stress eating are not character flaws.
They’re coping strategies.
And coping strategies can be replaced with safer, steadier ones.
If This Sounds Familiar
If you learned early that your emotions weren’t safe…
If food became your comfort because comfort wasn’t consistent…
If you’re exhausted from fighting yourself at night…
I want you to know that there’s nothing wrong with you.
Your nervous system adapted.
And now you can rewire it.
Inside my 90-Minute Emotional Eating Breakthrough Session and my 16-Week Emotional Eating Freedom Framework, I help women step out of survival mode and into steadiness.
Not with rules.
Not with restriction.
But with tools that make food feel neutral again.
