3 Keys to changing your life! Key 1…Behaviors

My Intuitively Unique Coaching Method

Hello friend! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I’ve been getting questions about what I do as a Transformational Coach so I’m going to share my 3- part method that I use with my one-on-one coaching clients.

My aim is to give you a snapshot of the 3 Keys to my method which developed from a need to serve the ladies who are struggling with low self-esteem, stress, troubling emotions and an over all lack of confidence in themselves.

Many of them came to me with these common concerns and obstacles; which inspired me to create this method, as you will read about in my next 3 blogs.

The 3 Key areas of their lives that are impacted or affecting their true self-worth, happiness, health and overall well-being are:

  1. Behaviors – which are things like your diet, exercise and sleep
  2. Beliefs – which are things like your mindset and self-talk
  3. Being – which is who you identify yourself to be on a deep and even subconscious level

Let me first begin by sharing some highlights from Part 1: Behaviors.

Do you feel like you just need to overcome some bad habits to get healthier or lose a few pounds or have more energy?

Are you suffering on an emotional level or trying overcome anxiety, depression or damaging self-talk?

Perhaps, you’ve already done a lot of work on your health and mindset; but feel like there still is something missing?

Here’s the thing, no matter where you are in your journey of self-discovery and creating the life that you want, you need to address these parts of your life.

Therefore, the 3 keys I’m about to share will take you to the next level!

Behaviors refer to things you do every day.

These are your habits; such as, sleeping, eating  exercising, drinking enough water, and managing your stress and self care.

You know this is an area you need to work on if you are:

  • Repeatedly falling off track from good habits—like eating healthy or losing weight
  • Overdoing things—overworking, overspending, overeating, overexercising
  • Numbing out with addictions—food, alcohol, sex
  • Unmotivated, stressed, exhausted, or stuck in a cycle of self-sabotage

I’ll give you an example of a woman I was working within this area so that you can get a sense of what a client experiences when they work with me.

Kathy had 3 jobs and she was programmed to work work work and give give give too much of herself.  She found that she was not sleeping well, had a really sore neck and was living on coffee and Tylenol.

Her “struggle” was the perfect example of living on the “effect” side of life; instead of, being on the “cause” side of life.

Living on the “effect” side, she was always responding to the needs of others, like her boss, her kids, and her notifications.

What she needed to do was shift to the “cause” side of life, which means that she learned to be internally motivated to do what’s important to her needs too.

We worked on shifting her behaviors to support her own well-being instead of only that of others so that she could finally make the changes in her life that she wanted.

  • Stopping to take a break
  • Saying NO to more and more demands when she felt overworked
  • Stopped for breathing and bathroom breaks
  • Gave herself permission for self-care time, during the workday
  • Put firm boundaries in place to have a balance between work and her life

The takeaway here was that she needed to give herself permission to prioritize herself.

Finally, Kathy realized that she deserved to do things that gave her energy and life.

Most importantly, she created a new habit of scheduling self-care breaks.

Using a reminder on her phone to go off every 30 minutes, Kathy created a new behavior to get up and away from her workspace for just 5 minutes.

Here is what she incorporated into her day:

  1. 5-5-7 breathing
  2. Dancing
  3. Walking around in the grass
  4. Sipping water
  5. Using the Calm App
  6. Calling a friend

Everyone likes a checklist of “these are the habits you need to change,” but none of that will work unless you first believe you are worth it.

Which brings us to key #2 to overcoming any obstacle in your life.
