How to Get the Most Out of Your Detox
This detox is simple, effective, and includes everything you need. But if I’ve learned one thing from supporting so many women through this process, it’s that preparation is everything.
That’s why we will prep your mind, body, kitchen, and family to set you up for success. Ready? Let’s dive in!
How to Prep Your Body
Ease off the caffeine.
If you’re a coffee-lover (same!), start cutting back now. Reducing caffeine one to two weeks before your detox helps you avoid withdrawal headaches that might otherwise show up. Don’t worry—you don’t have to give up your morning cup entirely, but try sticking to one small cup or even decaf.
Get your sweat on.
Sweating is one of the most natural ways your body detoxes! Whether it’s a walk, a sauna session, or a warm bath, getting your sweat on a few times a week will help your liver and lymphatic system do their thing.
Stay regular.
Pooping is one of your body’s primary detox pathways, so let’s keep things moving! If you’re struggling in that department, try:
- Warm lemon water with sea salt in the morning.
- Magnesium citrate.
- Fiber-rich foods like chia seeds and leafy greens.
Pro tip: Skipping a bowel movement on fasting days is normal. Don’t stress—things will move again once you eat on days 3-4.
Consider a binder supplement.
Binders help soak up toxins and safely remove them from your body. If you’re prone to detox symptoms (like headaches or fatigue), adding a binder can make all the difference.
Keep your lymph moving.
Your lymphatic system is like the body’s drainage system—it needs movement to stay flowing! Gentle exercises, such as rebounding on a trampoline, dry brushing, or even a quick stretch, can keep it from stagnating.

How to Prep Your Mind
Get your mindset ready.
Success starts in your mind! Remind yourself that you’re doing this for yourself. There might be challenging moments (hello, fasting days!)., but every step brings you closer to your goals.
Know your “why.”
Why are you doing this detox? Is it to feel more energized, break free from cravings, or reclaim your health? Write it down and post it somewhere you’ll see it daily. Let it remind you why this is worth it, even when it is challenging.
Create a mantra.
Pick a phrase to keep you motivated. One of my faves is: “Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better.” Say it, feel it, and keep going!
How to Prep Your Family
Share your “why.”
Talk to your family about your motivation and what this detox means to you. Their understanding and support can be a total game-changer.
Invite them to join.
Detoxing is always more fun with a buddy! Consider asking your partner, kids, or friends to join you. Cooking and eating detox-approved meals together makes life so much easier.
Set expectations.
Tell your family you’ll eat at home more, and mark your fasting days on the calendar. It’s okay to ask for extra understanding while your body adjusts!

How to Prep Your Kitchen
Declutter the temptations.
Do a quick pantry sweep and remove anything that might tempt you during your detox. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
Stock up on the good stuff.
Grab plenty of detox-approved foods and prepare your recipes ahead of time. On day 3, you’ll dive into cooking, so having everything on hand will make life much easier.
You’re All Set!
These simple prep steps will make your detox journey smoother, more enjoyable, and more effective.
